Fire Indication Panel (FIP)
Fire indicator panels also known as (FIP) are tested every month according to AS1851-2012.
FIP indicate which section of the building is unsafe and monthly tests indicate which sensors are not operating. From warning bell visual strobe lighting to the lamp indicators on the panel itself, we esnure it is operating as it should.
Most FIP are connected to an external provider and automatically alert the local fire departments to arrive in the case of an emergency. These panels usually require a key to isolate when testing.
Other fire panels that do not require a key for isolation and are only connected locally when an alarm is triggered. This will not automatically send out a fire brigade to assist is an emergency. It will usually only alerts the occupants.
Pro tip
When carrying out hydrant flow test and maintence on the sprinkler service, the fire panels are usually isolated. If this is not done properly the local fire department could arrive and cost your business thousands of dollars. –Ronny Allard
