Where to install extinguishers
According to AS2444, an extinguisher can be installed no less than 100mm above ground level and a maximum 1.2m from the floor to the top of the extinguisher handle.
Pro tip
From my experience installing extinguishers in newly built factories and apartments, I usually install the bracket at about belt-height. It is well above the min 100mm off the ground and not over the maximum 1.2mm to the top of the extinguisher handle. –Ronny Allard
